If you like trucks and cars, come to Montpelier High School on Saturday, June 8 for a great time.

It’s time for our eighth Touch a Truck Day where kids young and old can touch, honk, and climb on the many

vehicles we will have on display. Examples of some vehicles that may be there are a fire truck, ambulance,

backhoe, snow plow, dump truck, garbage truck, and semi.

This special day runs from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. No registration is necessary, just show up!

Concessions and other activities will be available.

Along with your entry fee, you will get a free day pass to the Montpelier Recreation Department Pool.

We hope to see you there.

Alive as we host the second annual State Street Slam single elimination 3 on 3
basketball tournament. Tournament play is open for teams of 3 – 4 players.

REGISTRATION ENDS Monday, July 22, 2013 AT 10:00 AM

Register before July 12, 2013 to receive a complementary 2013 State Street Slam t-shirt.

Brackets will be available for hoopsters grade 3 through adults, all
ability levels.

Bracket divisions are as follows:

3rd grade thorugh 5th grade

6th grade through 8th grade

9th grade through 12th grade

Adults under 40

Adults over 40

Adults 55 +

All youth players must play on teams within the appropriate divisions.

Vermont Tennis Academy- MRD Spring and Summer Tennis Lessons Date Posted: Wednesday, 03 April 2013 14:16

The Montpelier Recreation Dept. is excited to announce The Vermont Tennis Academy will be directing our Spring and Summer Tennis program. The Academy is directed by USPTA tennis professional Scott Barker.

The Vermont Tennis Academy is designed to help beginners to advanced players reach their maximum potential in a very short period of time. The academy offers low and high performance tennis training for all ages and abilities.

Scott’s experience as a tennis professional includes teaching beginners, intermediate and advanced players as well as high school, college and professional level players. Scott has won over 60 combined singles and doubles tournaments and has worked with former world champions John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Bjorn Borg and Stan Smith.

*All participants will be divided into groups by age and skill level.

*The academy offers match play statistics, ball speed clinics, as well as match strategy.

  • In order to stay for family swim, individuals must be entering 9th grade in the fall or accompanied by someone 18 years of age or older.
  • Please note the pool will close early on cold or rainy days.
  • For Swim Lesson information please visit our program registration page. Participants are not granted access to register online for swim lessons. All registrations and payments must be done at the Montpelier Recreation Department.

Basketball Camp YOUTH AGES 6-14 Description: The US Sports Institute Basketball summer camp is ideal for children who want to develop their basketball skills in a relaxed and fun environment. The focus of the basketball camp is to improve the individual’s technique through a series of fun basketball challenges and drills. Realistic basketball situations will be covered in small-sided games, with the week finishing with the USSI Basketball camp Super Hoops tournament.

SPORT SQUIRTS AGES 3-5 Description: The Sport Squirts program introduces children aged 3 to 5 to a variety of sports such as Soccer, T-ball, Basketball, Lacrosse and Hockey, all taking place in a safe structured environment ensuring learning is taking place. Activities are designed to evoke a child’s imagination in which they can Find Nemo, send Shrek into a spin or capture Jellyfish with Sponge Bob Square Pants. All activities promote hand-eye coordination, movement and balance and most importantly Fun, Fun, Fun.
